With the internet crying out over how Apocalypse looks more like a Power Ranger villain than the big villain for ‘X-Men: Apocalypse,’ we have word from Bryan Singer about his look and more! Some of these images may look familiar as they were previously released in non-HD but now can be enjoyed as they were meant to be – in full glorious hi-res. So strap in mutant lovers and let’s see what Singer has to say about some of the more villainous characters in the film.

First up is Singer’s take on Oscar Isaac’s Apocalypse. It is something I don’t think any of us are going to actually agree with him on unless there is a ton of CGI going into post production to change what they’ve clearly spent a lot of time creating with practical effects.

“He’ll be very similar to images in the comic. There’s obviously something very futuristic and yet ancient to the design of both his costume and his physicality.”

I’m pretty sure when cosplayers are nailing the look with practical effects and we’re getting the above, most of the X-Men fans aren’t going to be on the same page as you.

Speaking of other villains in the film, we do know that Magneto is making a reappearance.

So aside from not being in costume at the start, what else can we expect from Michael Fassbender’s return as the Master of Magnetism?

“Magneto is a guy that plays both sides. It depends on the day of the week. When we first meet him here, he’s hung up his cape and he’s fallen in love and had a family. His motives are in some ways justifiable, it’s just his methods that are questionable.”

Speaking of family, we know that Evan Peters’ Quicksilver is returning as well. Usually not the hero type we can expect him to be helping out somewhere.

“You can’t have him run around a kitchen in the Pentagon again. But I can incorporate him into the movie in a much more appropriate and integral way.”

Though clearly we won’t have any idea where as of yet. I’m wondering if we’ll finally have the father and son connection made in the movie or if it will still be left off.

We also have two shots that show some of new and returning X-Men to enjoy!
