Like many other fictional worlds from all over the pop culture spectrum, a galaxy far, far away will be descending upon San Diego, California for the annual San Diego Comic-Con this week. J.J. Abrams, Kathleen Kennedy, and a number of surprise guests will join moderator Chris Hardwick for a ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ panel provide a sneak peek at the highly anticipated film coming this winter. However, don’t expect a new trailer.

Entertainment Weekly revealed that Abrams and company wouldn’t be bringing another nostalgia-invoking preview or any clips to the hallowed Hall H on Friday afternoon.Don’t Expect A ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ trailer At SDCC Sources say that we’ll have to wait until the fall for that, but we’re hearing that the filmmakers won’t be coming empty handed. Here’s what we can expect according to EW:

“The Comic-Con panel will offer a behind-the-scenes look at the highly secretive film, which was completely locked down to press during production. Director J.J. Abrams, screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan, and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy are already confirmed as part of the panel, which will be moderated by Nerdist impresario and ‘Talking Dead’ host Chris Hardwick. Although EW hasn’t learned just which of the cast members will be joining them, our spies say there will be several actors who haven’t yet spoken publicly about their roles venturing onstage in Hall H.”

As you may recall, ‘Episode VII’ isn’t the only ‘Star Wars’ project in the works at the moment. Earlier this week, new details regarding the ‘Star Wars Anthology’ films involving Darth Vader and a young Han Solo surfaced ahead of the con. With Kasdan lined up for the panel, I wouldn’t be surprised if he touched on his Solo spinoff with his son and ‘The Lego Movie’ directors Christopher Miller and Phil Lord at least a little bit. Aside from that, no one really knows what else the Lucasfilm crew has in store for con-goers, so it should be a pretty good time regardless.
