Marvel Studios has officially brought on the screenwriting pair of Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely to return from their work on ‘Captain America: Civil War’ and run straight into tackling both of the ‘Avengers: Infinity War‘ films. While many have suspected that this was coming, it marks their reunion with the Russo brothers who were already confirmed to be directing the films. As the two have had a wonderful track record with the first two Captain America movies and each of their pieces of work seems to be garnering more interest than the last. it seems the perfect fit!

That and with ‘Captain America: Civil War’ for all intents and purposes being an unofficial Avengers film, it isn’t far-fetched to imagine them continuing to tackle the next big story for Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. Aside from Marvel’s First Avengers the two have also worked ‘Agent Carter’ which was just picked up for a second season and co-wrote ‘Thor: The Dark World’ (which I believe was the only movie to truly show Thor at his best and gave us a hint of exactly how devious Loki truly is, because if you think about it, his plans didn’t pan out too well in the first Thor and he was more or less used as a puppet in ‘The Avengers’ by Thanos).

According to Kevin Feige, “Chris and Steve have been an integral part of the Marvel family since the early days of Phase 1, and their work speaks for itself. We couldn’t be more excited to have them with us to help guide the Avengers through their biggest story yet.”

Personally I couldn’t agree with Feige more as their films have been a blast to date and they’ve been doing a great job at keeping our super heroes grounded in reality while still living in such a fantastic world.

I for one can’t wait to see what this pair comes up with in their upcoming three major Marvel blockbusters.
