Clearly with all of the events that we’ve seen so far in Marvel’s Cinematic Universe we’re going to be seeing The Avengers and company squaring off against Thanos once he collects the Infinity Gems but are the Infinity Stone manifestations actually directly linked to The Mad Titan? Some new sleuthing and putting together of what we’ve seen so far suggests that the big bad of Marvel might have more in common with these stones than one would first believe.

Now, this is either a huge coincidence, a bit of a leap of naming, or one of Kevin Feige’s greatest Easter Eggs or hints in the overall plan to date. Wouldn’t it be fitting for the most powerful objects in the universe to be tied together and spell out the name of the one creature who might be able to harness their power and survive to tell the tale?

So how is this breakdown working? Let’s take a look:

T, is for the Tesseract, also known as the Space Gem. This was first introduced in ‘Captain America: The First Avenger‘ and also used to open the portal in ‘The Avengers‘.

H, at this time is unknown but we have yet to see two of the Infinity  Gems and this is one of them!

A, is for the Aether. This one popped up in ‘Thor: The Dark World’ and is most likely the Reality Gem. In the comics this one has the power to alter reality itself.

N, is the second mystery gem which is unknown.

O, is for The Orb. You know, what Ronan ended up getting and unsuccessfully using in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy.’ The Orb is said to contain the Power Stone which allows for access to all of the power and energy in the Universe.

S, is for the Scepter. The nifty staff from ‘The Avengers’ that Loki was using to turn the populace into his following, used for experimentation on the twins at the post-credits of ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier‘ and used in a few scenes in ‘Avengers: Age Of Ultron’ which I won’t reference here as to not spoil the film for anyone who has not yet had the ability to check it out aside from the fact that it contains the Mind Gem which allows for, mind control and the reading of minds.

Basically it would break down like the following:

Now, a couple of these are stretches as we’re going with O for Orb and not the Power Stone, and S for Scepter and not the Mind Gem inside. Stretch or not we also have the Time and Soul gems up for grabs. Depending on if their names or housing end up beginning with an H or N we could be onto something here. The Time Gem allows for control over time and the Soul Gem allows control over all life in the Universe.

Now, imagine what happens if a super villain ends up having them all? If the H and N mentioned above holds true it could even be one who was meant to have them. I suspect we won’t know much until the May 4th, 2018 release of ‘Avengers: Infinity War Part 1‘ however, the groundwork could be lain in any ‘Doctor Strange‘ on November 4th, 2016, `Guardians of the Galaxy 2‘ on May 5th, 2017, or even ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ on November 3rd, 2017. I’m thinking we won’t see any references in ‘Ant-Man,’ ‘Captain America: Civil War’ or ‘The Spectacular Spider-Man.’ I suspect while we may get a hint of at least one more stone before the war starts that it won’t be much more than that.

What are your thoughts on the Thanos and Infinity Gems connection? Are we getting some pure chance here with the names or are we getting something even bigger coming into play? Share your thoughts below True Believers!
