Not exactly a cameo but the famed star for the original ‘Planet of the Apes,’ Charlton Heston, is narrating the latest teaser for the next installment of the rebooted franchise – ‘War for the Planet of the Apes‘. Director Matt Reeves has long wanted to find a way to connect his take on the series to the time traveling astronaut that kicked off the original movies, and this is one creative way to see that happen. While I’m still hoping we could see what will occur in this universe down the line with a similar set of events play out, I’m not going to be against bringing this deceased star back for a CGI cameo – even if it is only his voice that makes an appearance in marketing material.
You can “Witness The End” in the new teaser right here:
From the evolution of the human race to clips from both ‘Rise of the Planet of the Apes’ and ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ it seems like a great way to show the evolution of both humanity and apekind. The monolog indicates that humanity will not end here and if Reeves at all follows the original films in future installments we know that won’t be the case at all as there is a tale of enslavement and revolution yet to come.
We’re unsure as to what reading the audio is from at this time.
