Capcom has released thirteen brand new screenshots showing off more of the horrifying terrors that await players in the upcoming ‘Resident Evil: Revelations 2.’

The new screenshots give a look at what appears to be a few of the new enemy types that will appear in the game. The first appears to be a stilted creature that appears to be have parts of it stapled together along with some blades and other rusty metal objects lodged into it. The second appears to be a deformed pig-like creature with rusty metal rods and spikes sticking from its body. However, the third seems to take on the form of a bloated pimple ready to lethally explode, which you’ve played enough survival horror games, is most likely its purpose in combat.

The upcoming survival horror title will feature two different scenarios for players to go through. One will feature Claire Redfield and Moira Burton as they explore a derelict prison island that they are trapped in after having been kidnapped, while the other will take place a bit later at the same prison island and will feature Barry Burton and a mysterious little girl named Natalia Korda as they try to find Claire and Moira.

‘Resident Evil: Revelations 2’ is a thematic sequel to 2012’s ‘Resident Evil: Revelations,’ a series spin-off that was originally released on to the 3DS but then ported to PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U and Windows PC. Due to the first title’s relative critical success partly due to its more survival horror tone and feel than the series’ less critically received recent main entry ‘Resident Evil 5,‘ it looks to be a understandable move on Capcom’s part to bring the spin-off series forward.

‘Resident Evil: Revelations 2′ will release as a downloadable weekly episodic series for the PS4, PS3  and Windows PC on February 17, while a release on Xbox One and Xbox 360 is planned to follow on February 18.  Once the series concludes, a physical retail release of the game is set to come out on March 13.
