When the teaser for ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens‘ was released, many fans were quick to talk about the shadowy figure wielding a lightsaber with a guard on the hilt. Director J.J. Abrams and Lucasfilm president later shared via retro-styled trading cards that this person in the picture above is named is Kylo Ren. Now, we get to see his face (or his mask) thanks to some recently released toy images.
According to Ain’t It Cool News, the characters from the upcoming adventure in a galaxy far, far away will be part of the popular ‘Star Wars Black’ line of deluxe 6-inch action figures. The image below shows off who will presumably be a part of the first wave from the film:
From left to right, you’re looking at Kylo Ren, John Boyega’s Finn, Daisy Ridley’s Rey, the BB-8 droid, and Peter Mayhew’s iconic Millennium Falcon co-pilot and Wookiee, Chewbacca. As with the rest of the line, these figures look to have excellent sculpts and articulation, but we’ll see how the final products turn out. But if you’re looking for more of the most likely Sith Lord Ren, another picture has surfaced showing a better look at his helmet:
There’s definitely a distinct Darth Vader parallel in this design, so one has to wonder whether or not there are connections between the two ‘Star Wars’ characters beyond similar tastes in fashion. For all we know, this design for Kylo Ren could even be connected to some of the previous rumors we heard early on about the upcoming film that involve Rey and the legendary Luke Skywalker.
