Slowly but surely, new details are trickling out about ‘Star Wars: Episode VII.‘ However, the question remains about which rumors are true and which ones are purely speculation. Recently, we got a look at the Chrometroopers and heard a little bit about their function in J.J. Abrams’ upcoming adventure in a galaxy far, far away. Now, we learn more about two more characters and the roles that they’ll play in the next chapter of the beloved Lucasfilm franchise.

For starters, we have some new information about Daisy Ridley’s character. When the first wave of cast members was announced, many were curious about the relatively unknown actress. Not only were we in the dark about her, but also her role in the new trilogy. So far we’ve heard a number of things that may or may not be true, but the latest news comes from Badass Digest, who says that Ridley’s character goes by the name of Kira, lives in an abandoned AT-AT, and is somehow connected to Max von Sydow’s character. Here’s what the report says about her when she is found in a salvage yard and comes into possession of a lightsaber:

“She’s hanging out there with von Sydow, who is an old cyborg dude, a guy who maybe has dementia. He talks a lot of nonsense. But as soon as that lightsbaber shows up, he gets lucid. He recognizes it. He begins to talk about the old days, name drops a couple of Prequel Trilogy characters, even. And then, after Kira and the alien leave he makes a call to a mysterious figure. ‘It’s here’, he says. But who is he calling?”

Rumor has it that the lightsaber belongs to Luke Skywalker, but now questions arise about how it has escaped his possession. Maybe someone took it from his lair, which has supposed shown up online in the first footage from the production. Techno Buffalo shared a video earlier this week of a bearded man in a Jedi cloak that is supposedly Mark Hamill kneeling in a cave and wandering around an island. This cell phone video of a video screen also shows that the location on Skellig Michael, Ireland is labeled “Luke’s Refuge.” Unfortunately, the video has been taken down and the account that posted it has been deleted, but a few screenshots live on and you can check them out below:

Finally, in a bit of news that relates to both Ridley and Hamill, Making Star Wars supposedly has an “I am your father” level spoiler to report. Before you get into it, be warned that if true, this is a massive SPOILER. Then again, almost everything in this article is a spoiler, so if you made it this far, then it’s not really a concern to you. Anyway, the site has reportedly stumbled upon some concept art or footage that they cannot share that might indicate that Luke Skywalker is the villain of the movie.

Previously, some reports had stated that Ridley’s Kira spends the movie looking for Skywalker after his lightsaber crosses her path and this new article describes a scene that supports this. In her search, she confronts a hooded “monster” with half a mask that has a mechanical hand similar to Anakin’s and Luke’s, red eyes, and holds the charred helmet of Darth Vader with reverence. When she makes it known that she is looking for the Jedi to help “vanquish” evil, it turns out that Skywalker is actually the evil that stands before her. When this reveal crushes her, she succumbs to the Dark Side and joins forces with Skywalker.

Of course, MSW covers their bases by saying that it could all be a swerve because Mark Hamill has been growing a beard for this production. Why would he do so if he were just going to cover it up with a mask? Then again, as they say, that too could be a swerve to make the audience think that he’s the Obi-Wan of the film when he’s actually following in his father’s footsteps. Either way, it sounds like some interesting things are in store for Luke Skywalker when ‘Episode VII’ comes out.
