Tuesday was a big day for Marvel! Not only did they make several big announcements about upcoming films in their Phase 3 plans, they ended the day by unveiling a clip and extended trailer for ‘The Avengers: Age of Ultron’ during an episode of ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’

Many who attended the Marvel panel at last July’s San Diego Comic Con will recognize the clip as it is a shorter version of the same one that was shown in Hall H. In the clip, Team Avengers have a little fun with Thor’s mighty and mystical hammer, Mjölnir, before being interrupted by Ultron. Following the clip is a slightly extended version of the trailer.

Check out the video below which is followed by the film’s synopsis:

Marvel Studios presents Avengers: Age of Ultron, the epic follow-up to the biggest Super Hero movie of all time. When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to the Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure.

Those with eagle eyes may have caught the new snippets that weren’t in the trailer that was released last week. One snippet that should get fanboys and fangirls all giddy is the image of Loki’s staff on a tablet. If you recall, the staff was last shown in the possession of HYDRA at the end of ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ and with the staff is the Infinity Stone! How important this snippet will be in the film is yet to be seen, but it has us excited none the less!

How about you? Are you as excited as we are for ‘The Avengers: Age of Ultron’?

‘The Avengers: Age of Ultron’ will be in theaters on May 1, 2015
