While we’ve all been happily made aware that a new ‘Twin Peaks‘ series is coming to Showtime, it looks as if co-creator Mark Frost has a new novel in the works to reveal the fate of the characters that we’ve come to know and love. The novel is titled ‘The Secret Lives of Twin Peaks’ and really promises to give us an inside look at the original characters as well as shed some light on the central mystery from the original series. (This kind of makes it sound as if we won’t be seeing it in the upcoming series.)

‘The Secret Lives of Twin Peaks’ is set to be released in 2015 by Macmillan subsidiary Flatiron Books and will be available well in advance of the 2016 Showtime series. Will there be a tie-in past location from the new series to the old? That still hasn’t been addressed at all. However, Frost recently reached out to say that, “This has long been a dream project of mine that will bring a whole other aspect of the world of Twin Peaks to life, for old fans and new. I couldn’t be more thrilled.”

More ‘Twin Peaks’ has been a dream for many of us as well!

This isn’t the first novel to take place in the world of ‘Twin Peaks’ as ‘The Secret Diary of Laura Palmer’ was released in 1990 that took palce between the first two seasons and was written by David Lynch’s daughter Jennifer Lynch. On top of that, there was also a 1991 release of ‘The Autobiography of F.B.I. Special Agent Dale Cooper: My Life, My Tapes’ which was written by Frost’s brother, Scott Frost and came out in 1990. This new novel, however, sounds to be the most promising piece of actual new material for fans of the series.
