It looks as if The CW loves the success of ‘Arrow‘ and ‘The Flash‘ so much that they want another show based off of the DC universe joining the lineup! Well, technically a fourth show if you count ‘iZombie‘ in that list but I’m pretty sure they mean a third one in the same continuity allowing for crossovers, cameos, Easter Eggs, and more. With talk of ‘Supergirl,’ ‘Teen Titans,’ ‘Constantine,’ and ‘Booster Gold’ all already on their way to the small screen on other networks and ‘Gotham‘ having already premiered, the CW is looking to step up their own superhero show list.
With all of that on the way, one might worry that The CW might be pushing their luck. They would disagree with you!
How serious are they about the idea? Well it seems that Warner Bros. TV, DC Entertainment and The CW are already in talks about bringing a third character to the network.
CW President Mark Pedowitz wouldn’t give many details on who we might see but did chime in that “there are discussions going on but I can’t tell you what they are.”
Tease.
While I suppose that the film properties might be off limits, there is still a slew of characters that could be introduced who haven’t been yet. Not only from Arrow and Flash’s friends but from all of the other characters that have been introduced to date.
Aside from that, there is no firm ruling that DC and Warner Brothers wouldn’t be open to sharing their cinematic characters, I just couldn’t see it happening prior to the release of ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice‘ with how much they have riding on it to form a cinematic Justice League set of films.
