As the debut of the brand new animated series ‘Star Wars Rebels’ approaches this week, we mustn’t forget its epic predecessor, ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars.’ Though it was cancelled when Disney purchased Lucasfilm, its legacy still lives on in ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars – The Lost Missions’ (the show’s final season on Netflix), Star Wars: Darth Maul –Son of Dathomir’ (a Dark Horse Comics tie-in to the show), and the upcoming novel ‘Star Wars: Dark Disciple.’ However, there is one final way to get your ‘Clone Wars’ fix before we move on completely to ‘Rebels.’

On StarWars.com, there are four unfinished episodes of ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’  titled ‘Crystal Crisis on Utapau’ that tells one more story from the beloved Cartoon Network series. Because they are unfinished, they’re not fully animated, but rather the team used story reels to tell one last story from the final ‘Star Wars’ expansion under the George Lucas regime. To check out these episodes, you can click right here, but first here’s an intro video to acquaint yourselves with all the ways that ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ has managed to stay alive after cancellation:

Are you excited to check out the four additional episodes of ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’? Were you surprised to see Utapau again after it’s brief appearance in ‘Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith’? Were there any other elements of the prequel trilogy that you wish were touched upon by the ‘Clone Wars’ team? And are you excited to see what spills over into ‘Star Wars Rebels’ from it’s predecessor? Sound off in the comments.

The next chapter of ‘Star Wars’ animation begins when ‘Star Wars Rebels’ premieres as a one-hour special on October 3rd on the Disney Channel before starting it’s season on Disney XD on October 13th.
