What you might not know is that Harley Davidson is going green by making an electric motorcycle and the first onscreen appearance of the vehicle is going to be in ‘The Avengers: Age Of Ultron‘!

With S.H.I.E.L.D. on the outs after ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier,’ you would think that its agents wouldn’t have access to all of the fun toys that they used to. Thankfully for Natasha Romanoff, either she’s sacked away some money from her years as an assassin or a nice perk on being a part of The Avengers is getting all of the good toys because she’ll be riding one of the new unreleased Harleys! Its always good to see Black Widow getting new toys to play with. Who knows maybe they’ll end up being donated by the company or Natasha ended up borrowing one.

While I doubt we’ll find out the origin of the bike in the movie, in reality it is called Project LiveWire! The picture at the top of the article shows off the LiveWire (with a stunt double riding it.) This new Harley no longer roars to life but now has an electric purr when it starts up which is quite a change from what any fan of the company will be used to. Don’t be fooled though, as while it doesn’t have the grow’, it still has quite a sound to it. In fact you can hear it below at the 19 second point of the following video.

With how fitting that is for something out of ‘The Avengers,’ I wonder if Stark will somehow claim involvement in its creation in the movie? That sounds like something that not only he would create, but at the very least take credit for. According to Harley Davidson’s Chief Marketing Officer Mark-Hans Richer, “This has never been about an electric car. For us, it’s been more about an electric guitar: expressive, emotional, fun.”

If you are worried about the change in sound not being quite as aggressive as the throaty growl from the gas models, Lead Engineer Jeff Richlen says that, “If you hear it in a true passby, it will sound like…a fighter jet flying by.” I’d say a fighter jet is pretty aggressive if you ask me. I’m wondering if we’ll see any flying by when we see this on the big screen as Natasha is riding it.

You can get a quick shot of it on set for ‘The Avengers: Age of Ultron’ in the video below: (I should probably warn you there is some footage that you’ll see from a chase scene in the movie as well. Be warned if you want to go into this spoiler free!)

Are you interested in checking out the new Harley? Do you think it’s neat that we’ll be getting an introduction to it in the next Avengers film of all places? Share your thoughts below true believers!

‘The Avengers: Age of Ultron’ assembles in theaters on May 1, 2015.
