DC Collectibles Debuts Two New Justice League Dark Figures

Our friends over at AFI were lucky enough to get this exclusive first look at two of DC Collectibles newest figures, John Constantine and Zatanna from DC Comics Justice League Dark! These figures are both brand new sculpts and mark the first plastic renditions of either character in their modern New 52 era look. The full solicit from DC Collectibles is not currently available, but should be out within the week with more information as to when we can expect to see these two on shelves! In the meantime, we can at least drool over these phenomenal new sculpts and hope they are released sooner rather than later!

Real Action Hero to Kick-Ass!

Move over Hot Toys! Medicom is here to Kick-Ass! Quite literally actually, with the release of their new 12” Kick-Ass figure based on the titular hero from the film and comic book of the same name. This new 1:6th scale figure looks like he takes his visual cues from the look of the character in his live-action film appearances, but that is in no way a bad thing! He sports a clothe costume, his signature billy-clubs and a ton of articulation! Expect to see him sometime around February of 2015.

Marvel Brings Back The Classics

While they aren’t quite the Mego figures we all know and love from back in the day, Marvel and Diamond Select are working hard to bring us something as close as possible to those classic figures with their all new Marvel Retro line! These new 8” figures will have the same classic look and feel of the old Mego figures, but with all the innovation of the toys of today like alternate hands and a ton of cool accessories! The full release from Marvel is below:

“It seems like retro-style 8″ figures have become all the rage lately, but one license has been noticeably absent: the Marvel Comics characters from Mego’s World’s Greatest Super-Heroes line. These classic 8-inch, cloth-costume action figures were very popular back in the 1970s, and are as beloved today as they are hard to find mint-in-box. Luckily, Diamond Select Toys has announced a line of deluxe Marvel Retro 8″ figures that will reproduce (and add to) those classic figures, starting with the Amazing Spider-Man!

Only available as part of as special collector set, the Amazing Spider-Man will come as he first appeared in 1973, in his original “circle suit” costume and inside a reproduction window box. Additionally, the set contains all-new interchangeable heads, hands, outfits and accessories so that you can swap out parts on the classic figure to turn him into his alter ego: Daily Bugle photographer Peter Parker, or even a modern comic version of the wall-crawler!

Designed and sculpted for DST by the retro-toy craftsmen at EMCE Toys, the set will also contain a miniature booklet outlining the history of Spider-Man. Future sets in the line will turn the spotlight on Captain America, Iron Man and Wolverine, who was never included in the original 1970’s line. Each set will be limited to just 3,000 pieces, and retail for approximately $80.”

The full release from Hot Toys is coming your way now:

Master Chief Returns With McFarlane

After many collectors had started to give up hope that McFarlane would be bringing us new Halo product anytime soon, they surprise us with the announcement of two brand new figures based on the popular video game franchise. Fans of Microsoft’s biggest gaming franchise can look forward to a look at Master Chief both new and old. One figure will be based on the character’s appearance in 2004’s ‘Halo 2’, which is celebrating it’s 10th anniversary this year! The other figure is based upon Master Chief’s appearance in last years E3 Trailer for an as of yet unnamed next-gen halo game featuring the character in battle-worn armor with a cracked visor, a large cloak, and the fried-out chip that formerly contained the living AI Cortana, who has accompanied him throughout all of the previous games of the series but was seemingly lost to him in the climax of Halo 4. The full release from McFarlane is after the jump:

“Throughout his heroic military career, the Master Chief has battled to victory in the face of insurmountable odds, time and time again, in a saga spanning several award-winning video games. As the series has evolved, his look may have changed, but his determination has never wavered.

Now, this enhanced super-soldier returns to the toy aisle this fall as McFarlane Toys celebrates the past and future of the legendary Master Chief! So holster your Plasma Pistol and put the Frag Grenade down as we look at the Halo figures charging your way:

HALO 2 MASTER CHIEF: Ten years ago, Halo® 2 made its debut on the original Xbox, and changed multiplayer gaming on consoles forever. To commemorate the tenth anniversary of this influential, fan-favorite game, McFarlane Toys is offering a figure of the Master Chief, just as he appeared in 2004.

Our Halo 2 Master Chief figure captures all the details of this first version of his Mark VI armor – from the five indentations on his hand and ankle armor, to the smooth, undamaged plating on his chest. Halo 2 introduced innovations such as dual wielding, and classic weapons like the Battle Rifle. To celebrate, we’re loading up our Halo 2 Master Chief figure with an arsenal of second-game-themed weapons. Figure includes dual SMGs, a pair of Brute Plasma Rifles, and the ever-popular Battle Rifle. No matter which weapons you choose, you’ll be ready to fight like you did a decade ago!

MASTER CHIEF WITH CLOAK: Our NEW Master Chief figure for 2014 brings fans the most famous hero of the Halo saga, updated to his latest look, as seen in the epic teaser video that debuted at last year’s E3 video game convention. This version of the Master Chief includes his removable multi-layered, wind-swept cloak – the perfect accessory for keeping the harsh, glittering desert sands out of his armor. The Master Chief’s helmet also features a cracked visor. Cortana may be gone, but the Master Chief still clings to her memory, carrying her inactive Data Crystal Chip on a chain as the “dog tag” of his closest friend. Our figure includes that Data Crystal Chip on a chain, along with his Boltshot pistol.

Continue to expand your Halo universe this October and watch out for more Halo action figures coming soon! “
