In the latest casting news for ‘Jurassic World’, it now looks as if the talented Omar Sy (‘X-Men Days of Future Past‘, ‘The Intouchables’) has signed on to star in the film! He hasn’t joined as Bishop though, as that was a different team known as the X-Men (which, by the way is really introducing him to genre films in a big way! Interestingly enough, it actually looks as if the announcement came from Twitter of all places first with a tweet from Omar Sy followed up by one from director Colin Trevorrow.

That second tweet translates into “Very pleased to welcome @OmarSy in Jurassic World.”

Sy is joining fellow comic book to film actors Chris Pratt (‘Guardians of the Galaxy‘, ‘The Lego Movie‘), Ty Simpkins (‘Iron Man 3‘, ‘War of the Worlds’), and Irrfan Khan (‘The Amazing Spider-Man’, ‘Life of Pi’) as well as Bryce Dallas-Howard (‘The Village’, ‘Terminator Salvation’), Nick Robinson (‘The Kings of Summer’, ‘Melissa & Joey’), Jake Johnson (‘New Girl’, ‘Drinking Buddies’) and Vincent D’Onofrio (‘Men in Black’, ‘Strange Days’) in the fourth installment of the franchise. We don’t know much about the film itself yet, however we are aware that Sam Neill and Jeff Goldblum (‘Independence Day’ ,’The Fly’) would not be returning. Who will be returning is B.D. Wong (‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit’, ‘Stay’) whose return may prompt part of the plot as according to the director, “[Dr. Henry Wu] had a much larger role in the original novel – he was the engineer of this breakthrough in de-extinction. He spent two decades living in Hammond’s shadow, under appreciated. We think there’s more to his story.”

What do you think of Sy joining the cast? Are you excited for another journey into the world of ‘Jurassic Park’ or should they have rebooted or ended the series? Share your thoughts below!
