It looks like Rob Liefeld sat down recently and had a bit of a say on the upcoming X-Force movie that Jeff Wadlow (‘Kick-Ass 2‘) will be working on. While I’m not sure what input he will have on the actual movie itself, since he was one of the co-creators of the original series, it wouldn’t be surprising that he has some kind of influence (or is a consultant on the film at the very least).

So what did he say? Well according to his tweets:

With casting options he followed that up with:

So it looks like unless they change things up, the casting of Deadpool could once again go to Ryan Reynolds.

Who could play Cable? Well again we hit Twitter and see that Rob’s got someone in mind as well.

Sure he probably isn’t in charge of casting, but it’s an interesting fit. With Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson having the kind of persona that would fit well with a comic franchise and not having hit the Marvel circuit yet, he could be a great pickup into the universe. I don’t think he’d be my first pick for the brashness I immediately think of when Cable comes to mind. Also with special effects it would be easy to show him as both a younger or older version. Then again, maybe this is the reason Vin Diesel had a meeting with Marvel not too long ago?

One theory I had thrown out there was that ‘Days of Future Past’ could be used as a lead in for the ‘X-Force’ film by using it as a way to bring Cable into the fold quicker. What I hadn’t been thinking, though, was this was a way to bring other members of X-Force in as well. The original team is mostly defunct members of ‘The New Mutants’ and included Boom Boom, Cable, Cannonball, Domino, Feral, Shatterstar and Warpath.

Thinking about that lineup I had to do a double take and realized that in ‘Days of Future Past’ there is a certain casting reason for Booboo Stewart playing Warpath. That’s one down. Also there is a rumor that Omar Sy is playing Bishop who has a long history with X-Force. Also in the mix? Adan Canto is rumored to be playing Sunspot who was also a long term X-Force member. Will they strategically be using these characters as a lead in to X-Force? Could there be more unknown reference that will be hidden in the movie or haven’t been announced casting wise? Only time will tell but I am truly hope they either have some of these planned or find a way to fit it in later with re-shoots because it is exactly what Fox’s Marvel Universe needs to compete with The Avengers.

So who do you think would make a good Cable? Who do you want to see on the team aside from the only 2 officially announced so far? Sound off below!
