Back when Marvel Studios was shooting ‘The Avengers’, their cinematic universe descended upon Cleveland, Ohio under the direction of Joss Whedon to bring Earth’s Mightiest Heroes to life. Now, the House of Ideas is returning to the city that rocks for ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ next year.

According to Comic Book Movie, the studio will be shooting Steve Rogers’ next adventure in Cleveland, which doubled as New York City and Stuttgart, Germany in ‘The Avengers’. In the press release, Marvel Studios Co-President Louis D’Esposito said the following:

“Marvel is pleased to return to Ohio, this time with our ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ production. The location, talent and people of Ohio are sure to benefit our film, and we look forward to beginning production.”

Ivan Schwartz, the executive director of the Greater Cleveland Film Commission, and the Mayor of Cleveland, Frank G. Jackson, are extremely excited for Marvel to return to their fair city. Schwartz had these welcoming words to say about the upcoming production:

“We proved with the filming of Marvel’s The Avengers that Cleveland has the talent, architecture and amazing locations that will provide filmmakers everything they need to ensure a successful filming experience, and the economic impact of this new project can’t be denied. Filming will create a number of jobs for Ohioans and will give our region another chance to demonstrate how skilled, professional and dedicated our workforce truly is.”

Directed by Greendale Community College regulars Anthony & Joe Russo, ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ features the return of Chris Evans as the Star-Spangled Avenger alongside Samuel L. Jackson, Sebastian Stan, and Marvel newcomer Anthony Mackie as The Falcon, and is slated for release on April 4, 2014.
