Two months ago, it was uncertain whether or not ‘2 Broke Girls’ star Kat Dennings would be returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the sassy 20-something Darcy Lewis in the God of Thunder’s next big screen adventure ‘Thor: The Dark World’. Now, thanks to Deadline, we can confirm that the actress will indeed be rejoining Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, and the whole gang for the sequel.

According to the report, Dennings’ role will be expanded from just a comic relief sidekick for Jane Foster and Erik Selvig. Though it is unknown how expanded the role will be, it’s no surprise that that the actress will get a beefed up role this time around since it would probably be difficult to draw her away from her hit CBS sitcom with a small part.

The actress is the latest to come on board director Alan Taylor’s Thor film, which starts shooting very soon in London, joining Zachary Levi as Fandral the Dashing and Christopher Eccleston as the villainous Malekith the Accursed.

‘Thor: The Dark World’, which will also feature the talents of Anthony Hopkins, Idris Elba, Stellan Skarsgard, and Tom Hiddleston reprising their roles from the 2011 film, is scheduled for release on November 8, 2013.
