A couple days ago we reported that Lena Headley, Edwin Hodge, Max Burkholder and Adelaide Kane had joined Ethan Hawke on the low budget sci-fi thriller ‘Vigilandia.’ Now we hear that Tony Oller is rounding off the cast and has been offered the lead role in the film.
Oller has appeared in Disney Channel’s ‘As the Bell Rings’, the interstitials that were shown between Disney programs as well as the Nickelodeon series ‘Gigantic.’ He can also be seen in the straight to DVD film thriller ‘Beneath the Darkness’ starring alongside with Dennis Quaid which premieres on the shelves on February 28th.
We still don’t know much about ‘Vigilandia’ except that it starts filming next week (February 13, to be exact) and James DeMarco wrote and will direct the film. Blum Blumhouse, which is the production company of Jason Blum (‘Paranormal Activity’ franchise), Brad Fuller (‘Nightmare on Elm Street’, ‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre’) and Andrew Form (‘The Hitcher’, ‘Friday the 13th’), along with Michael Bay’s company, Platinum Dunes, will be producing.
By the casting choices, I can only guess that Hawke, Headley, Burkholder and Kane may be playing a family that is tormented by Oller. What do you think? Hopefully we’ll know more in the next month when filming for ‘Vigilandia’ begins.
