As an early Christmas present to horror fans, Paramount has released a red band trailer for their new horror film ‘The Devil Inside.’ You may recall, a red band trailer is the trailer equivalent rating of an R rated movie (remember Universal’s red band trailer for ‘The Thing?’). That means the content in the trailer is intended for mature audiences (R or NC-17) as it contains harder edged material (more violence, harsher language, etc.).  So be forewarned…as this trailer does contain some violent and gory images.

‘The Devil Inside’ was written and directed by William Brent Bell and has the found footage look that seems to be popular lately with horror flicks (‘Apollo 18’, ‘Paranormal Activity’). But instead of ghostly apparitions, this movie deals with exorcisms and the possessed.

Here’s the full synopsis:

“In 1989, emergency responders received a 9-1-1 call from Maria Rossi (Suzan Crowley) confessing that she had brutally killed three people. 20 years later, her daughter Isabella (Fernanda Andrade) seeks to understand the truth about what happened that night. She travels to the Centrino Hospital for the Criminally Insane in Italy where her mother has been locked away to determine if her mother is mentally ill or demonically possessed. When she recruits two young exorcists (Simon Quarterman and Evan Helmuth) to cure her mom using unconventional methods combining both science and religion, they come face-to-face with pure evil in the form of four powerful demons possessing Maria. Many have been possessed by one; only one has been possessed by many.”

‘The Devil Inside’ will premiere in theaters on January 6 in the US and stars Fernanda Andrade, Isabella Rossi, Simon Quarterman, Evan Helmuth, Ionut Grama and Suzan Crowley.
