Wonder Woman 1984

SPOILER/RUMOR ALERT: Proceed with caution.  While this information is just RUMOR at this point, if any of it turns out to be true, it could be considered SPOILERS!

Unfortunately, Warner Brothers is sitting out San Diego Comic-Con International this year, so we’ll have to wait until December before we learn anything substantial about upcoming films like ‘Wonder Woman 1984’.  Director Patty Jenkins offered this note on Twitter apologizing for the delay in new info:

However, That Hashtag Show has gathered some information that might give an idea of what to expect.

Pedro Pascal is rumored to be playing Maxwell Lord, a character that started out as heroic, but became a ruthless villain.  In the comics, Wonder Woman executed him on live television, briefly turning the population against her.  Lord possessed powerful telepathy, which he had used to control Superman’s mind, which almost resulted in him killing Wonder Woman.

In the movie, however, Lord will “have the ability to grant people’s wishes… at a price.”

Why, how else do you explain how Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) comes back from the dead?  According to THS, he is revived by Lord!

Kristen Wiig is playing Barbara Minerva, a.k.a. Cheetah.  When she first transforms, “she’s the hero she wants to be.”  But her bestial side takes over and she can’t control her killer impulses.  “People turn on her out of fear, forcing her down the villain’s path.”  Reportedly, Barbara and Diana (Gal Gadot) start off as friends, but as The Cheetah loses control, Wonder Woman must stop her.

Lord is obviously the major villain of ‘Wonder Woman 1984’.  One rumor suggests that at one point, he uses his mental powers to transfer his soul into another body… possibly Steve’s!

This is all RUMOR so take it with a grain of salt.  But if these are true, what do you think of this rough outline for ‘Wonder Woman 1984’?

‘Wonder Woman 1984’ will twirl into theaters on June 4th, 2020.
