Ken Leung Karnak Inhumans

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is always expanding. Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios is always thinking ahead, while Jeph Loeb and Marvel Television have been finding new and exciting ways to showcase the heroes of the House of Ideas on the small screen. But this week, in particular, seems like an excellent week for expansion as ‘Inhumans’ has been revealing cast members left and right. Following the announcement that former ‘Game of Thrones’ star Iwan Rheon would be playing Maximus, we learned that Anson Mount and Serinda Swan were cast as Black Bolt and Medusa earlier this week. But now that the King and Queen of Attilan have been established, it would seem that the Inhumans have found the brains of this operation. And apparently, the rumors are true as he is an alum of the ‘Lost’ cast.

According to Marvel.com, prominent actor Ken Leung has landed the role of Karnak in the upcoming unprecedented collaboration between Marvel, ABC, and IMAX. With the ability to see the fault in all things (people, plans, structures, everything), Karnak is King Black Bolt’s most ardent supporter and strategist, which leads the kingdom to view him as the royal family’s planner and philosopher.

With a filmography dating back to the late 90s, Leung has had a number of memorable roles throughout the years. While many will likely remember him in ‘Lost’ as Miles Straume, he has also appeared in ‘A.I. Artificial Intelligence’, ‘Saw’, ‘X-Men: The Last Stand’, ‘Shanghai Kiss’, and ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’. And of course we can’t forget his small albeit hysterical performance as Don the karaoke salesman in Edward Norton’s directorial debut ‘Keeping The Faith’ from 2000. With a wide range that is often underrated, Leung has won over ‘Inhumans’ showrunner/executive producer Scott Buck:

“Ken Leung has a great natural intelligence that reads clearly and will add depth and complexity to the very complicated character of Karnak.”

Now that we have Black Bolt, Medusa, Maximus, and Karnak, that only leaves Gorgon, Crystal, and Triton (and hopefully Lockjaw) as uncast. At the rate they’ve been going, there’s a very good chance that we’ll know the entire cast of ‘Inhumans’ by next Friday if not sooner. But while we wait to uncover the rest of the Royal Family, let us know what you think about Ken Leung as Karnak in the comments below.
