Serinda Swan Medusa Inhumans

If you were hoping that Elysia Rotaru would land the role of Medusa in the highly anticipated collaboration between Marvel Television, ABC, and IMAX titled ‘Inhumans’, then I’m afraid I’ve got some bad news. While the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s version of the Queen of the Inhumans has indeed been cast, it does not look like the character will be portrayed by the actress known for her work on ‘Supernatural’, ’Reapers’, and ‘Arrow’. Instead, the House of Ideas have enlisted Aphrodite herself for the part.

Marvel.com revealed that ‘Graceland’ star Serinda Swan would be ascending to the throne of Attilan royalty to play King Black Bolt’s Queen and most trusted advisor. Also known for her parts in ‘Chicago Fire’ and ‘Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief’, Swan’s Medusa will be a fiercely resilient warrior who has the ability to move and control her hair the way most people use their hands and fingers. Showrunner and Executive Producer Scott Buck had some high praise for the latest addition to his cast:

“Serinda Swan brings a regal elegance, as well as a sense of great inner strength and fierce determination to the role of Medusa. I couldn’t be happier to have her as our Queen of Attilan.”

Interestingly enough, Medusa won’t be the first superhero on Swan’s filmography. The actress previously appeared as Zatanna Zatara in a few episodes of ‘Smallville’. But now, she’ll join Anson Mount and Iwan Rheon as they appear on around 1,000 IMAX 3D screens for a limited two-week engagement before ‘Inhumans’ premieres on ABC in the fall.
