May 16th, 2014 can’t come soon enough for the release of the upcoming ‘Godzilla’ film. Today good things are coming in three’s as we have three viral videos and images to showcase the upcoming film that brings everyone’s favorite giant monster back to the big screen.

When director Gareth Edwards (‘Monsters’) first saw the final product of what will be the next incarnation of ‘Godzilla’, all he could do was say that “It was such a shot in the arm to see your star. It was like knowing you were pregnant vs. seeing the ultrasound. I suddenly remembered I was making this iconic movie.” Ladies, you can chime in on this one as I’m not quite sure the feeling is exactly the same but I believe we all do know where he’s coming from. This is his baby and it’s moving forward full speed into becoming a reality.

As seen in the trailer released yesterday, we’re clearly going to see a level of destruction from Godzilla that we’ve never experienced before. While he’s always destroyed parts of Tokyo or New York in the past in the film, Edwards states that “he’s like a force of nature, like the wrath of God or vengeance for the way we’ve behaved. If this really happened, it would be like Sept. 11”. This is going to be a whole new level of destruction that is being done because Edwards wants “to get the hairs on the back of your neck up.”

It’s a worthwhile goal to have for the film especially with it being the 60th anniversary of the King of the Monsters! This Kaiju has been tearing up the world far more than any other giant creature has to date and has been doing so for 30 films. I’ll be honest that as much as I love the character, I haven’t seen half of them out there. That might be my New Year’s Resolution to finish up doing before the next film’s release!

Are the new picture helping get you in the mood for destruction on a mass level? I know I’m looking forward to this movie but I’d love to hear from the rest of you to see if you are sharing my enthusiasm or not! Also, how many of the Godzilla films have you seen?

The new ‘Godzilla’ is scheduled to hit theaters on May 16, 2014 in 3D.
