Keri Russell Kept Her Zorii Bliss Helmet On For 2 Days While Shooting 'Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker'

Keri Russell is playing the new character of Zorii Bliss in ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker‘ and appears to have really enjoyed playing the part. In fact, she loved playing it so much that she didn’t want to take her mask off and kept it on straight through 2-days of filming! We still don’t know that many details concerning the new character, though she is apparently from Poe’s past.

IGN was on-site during a press conference for the film when Russell shared her excitement about playing the part:

“J.J. called me and said ‘do you want to be in Star Wars? He told me about the idea of the mask, and I love the mask. It’s a real power play because no one can see what you’re thinking, but you can see everyone else. I’ve known J.J. for so long, and I feel like we have a shorthand, and I feel like J.J. got to finish a piece of history.”

However, it wasn’t the actress that let fans know she was addicted to wearing the mask. That detail came straight from Abrams:

“Kerri loved the mask so much, that the first two days she worked on set, I never saw her face. She walked on set with her mask on, and wouldn’t take it off. I got to work with her for a few days and never saw her.”

It sounds like this mask might be more comfortable than some of the other ones out there. Much like in ‘The Mandalorian,’ it will be interesting to see how she emotes through actions and tone of voice and not by her facial expressions.
