Kevin Conroy has given us some of the most iconic takes on Batman of all time in ‘Batman: The Animated Series,‘ and with “Crisis On Infinite Earths,” he is finally able to deliver his take in a live-action format. However, the actor is hoping to reprise the role beyond that as well. Possibly, in a ‘Batman Beyond’ styled series!

With the CW developing a new ‘Superman’ series starring Tyler Hoechlin, Conroy wants in on the action too. The idea of ‘Batman Beyond’ having an older Bruce Wayne no longer directly being The Dark Knight would even give Warner Bros. a way around the studio not wanting to see Batman star in an ongoing series on the small screen.

In a recent interview with Comic Book, Conroy revealed the following:

“Wouldn’t that be awesome? That would be so awesome. I was thinking that as I was doing this, that I’m kind of inhabiting Old Bruce Wayne from Batman Beyond. He’s not that old — Bruce Wayne in Batman Beyond is like 80. He’s not that old in this, but he is as limited in his ability to be physical in this. He’s not fully able-bodied. In that sense, he’s like Old Bruce Wayne in Batman Beyond. And I was using the voice, actually, from Old Bruce Wayne from Batman Beyond. I was thinking, it would be great to do that. I would love it.”

Seeing Conroy continue in this role in the Arrowverse could be a ton of fun with him playing more of a general or mentor to a younger superhero. There are plenty of ideas that could be taken from ‘Batman Beyond,’ both the animated series and comics, while still having plenty of wiggle room to deliver a modern story.

Would you be thrilled to see Kevin Conroy continue playing an older Bruce Wayne in a ‘Batman Beyond’ series? Do you think that The CW is even remotely considering the option right now? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
