Karen Gillan as Nebula in Avengers: Endgame

We still don’t have a firm release date for James Gunn’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,‘ but we do know that Karen Gillan has read the script and thinks “it’s amazing!” This should be great news for fans of both the franchise and her character Nebula, who is likely going to have an increased part on the team after the events of ‘Avengers: Endgame.’ It is quite likely that we’ll see her traveling with the team as at one of the subplots will most likely be to track down her sister, the time-displaced Gamora.

In an interview with Yahoo! Entertainment, Gillan shared:

“I can say that I’ve read it and it’s amazing. We’re all really excited that James is back to complete the trilogy because it wouldn’t have felt right without him. It’s a wonderful, wonderful script.”

That is a nice change from ‘Avengers: Endgame’ where she states she didn’t get the whole script from Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely or The Russo Brothers. However, she did get “a good chunk of it” so she “could easily work out what was happening.”

The actress would also go on to share a few fun tidbits of continuing to play Nebula in the Marvel Cinematic Universe:

“When I signed on to Nebula, it was eight days of filming and she was supposed to die in the first Guardians film. So to go on and be able to evolve the character and then have her be this pivotal role in Endgame was amazing. I didn’t see it coming at all.”

I think this increased ability to see Nebula in the MCU is something we can all be “over the moon” for!
