The Witcher

With ‘The Witcher’ already being wildly popular before the Netflix release, thanks to a successful book series by Andrzej Sapkowski and video game franchise, you might wonder what other mediums it could show up in. Well, IGN Poland asked the executive producer Tomek Bagiński just that. Specifically, they asked if an animated version of ‘The Witcher’ could ever see the light of day. As we’ve already seen stunning cinematics in the video games, this idea isn’t completely out of the realm of possibility when you think of other shows on Netflix such as ‘Castlevania‘ being a perfect example of how it could work.

What is surprising here is that Bagiński doesn’t outright deny an animated series could happen:

“I don’t want to give away too much here, but who knows if we won’t see The Witcher in this style. However, these are things I would rather not talk about too much for now.”

Bagiński isn’t just an executive producer on the series but has been directly involved with the cinematics for the CD Projekt Red video games. He knows exactly what would be needed for an animated series to happen and it would be an easy way to even further flesh out the world which we’ll soon see Henry Cavill starring in.
