Patrick Wilson in 'The Conjuring'

Last year, Patrick Wilson (‘Aquaman,’ ‘Watchmen’) previously shared that ‘The Conjuring 3‘ was planning “to be different than anything we’ve seen,” and is now expanding on that view. The actor has been making films for years, but genre fans have seen the actor truly make a name for himself with Blumhouse’s “Conjuring” universe. So far, the actor has starred as Ed Warren in ‘The Conjuring,’ ‘The Conjuring 2’, ‘The Nun,’ and ‘Annabelle Comes Home.’ He is set to reprise the part once again in ‘The Conjuring 3’, which is due to be released in 2020.

Wilson’s part as an investigator into supernatural events has been pretty standard in the main films. That being said, Wilson has shared this about the upcoming film:

“The process [of making Conjuring 3] was fantastic, and it’s a much different feel. It’s still the same bones; it’s still very much Ed and Lorraine. Again, we are pushing our characters to places they haven’t gone, but the film will be a really nice addition because it’s definitely a different beast. Pun intended.”

Not much is known about the third movie in the “Conjuring” franchise, but this reference of a beast makes you wonder what might be coming into play in the next outing. The rumored plot of the movie has the pair not investigating a haunted house but instead, looking into a man who is on trial for murder. The man’s defense is that he ended up being possessed by a demon, which is where The Warrens get involved.

What do you think we can expect from ‘The Conjuring 3’ when it is released? Have you been enjoying the franchise so far? Do you feel this beast reference means a monster, Satan, or something else entirely? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
