The Final Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker Trailer
Lucasfilm LTD/Disney

Emperor Palpatine menacingly states “I have waited…” during the new trailer for ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’ and fans should be able to relate.  Many have been waiting for their entire lives for this movie, the ninth and final installment in the saga that began in 1977!

The new trailer is suitably reverent to the epic storyline, stressing that this is the end of the saga, but that The Force will live forever.  Longtime fans were treated to an extended caress between Carrie Fisher’s Leia and Daisy Ridley’s Rey, plus quick glimpses of Chewbacca and Lando Calrissian, while C-3PO gets to deliver one poignant farewell.  But of course, the focus of this trailer– and the film, no doubt– is on Rey and Kylo Ren.
