Netflix Orders Workplace Comedy Human Resources

Big Mouth‘ creators Nick Kroll, Andrew Goldberg, Mark Levin and Jennifer Flackett have begun development of their next series at Netflix. The streaming service has ordered ‘Human Resources‘, an animated workplace comedy co-produced by Kelly Galuska. The new series was just announced a few days ago at New York Comic Con. Kroll, Goldberg, Levin, Flackett and Galuska will serve all as creators and executive producers for the upcoming series.

Aside from the fact that the series seems to be a spinoff of ‘Big Mouth’ set in the world of the monsters from the show, no other information is known about the workplace comedy’s storyline was released. A very brief preview clip was unveiled with only the title ‘Human Resources’ with the tagline ‘We Manage People.’ The clip is shown below.

The news of the series order follows Netflix’s announcement of the third season renewal of adult animated comedy ‘Big Mouth’ which is part of a deal Netflix signed with Brutus Pink. Brutus Pink is the new animation production company launched by Kroll, Goldberg, Levin and Flackett, which will create a variety of adult animated projects in both film and television.

‘Big Mouth’, which debuted on September 29, 2017,  is inspired by Kroll’s and Goldberg’s childhood experience. The series is a coming-of-age comedy about a group of middle school aged children as they navigate through the magnificent nightmare that is puberty, quickly growing a strong following through the realness and rawness it showcases. The children are accompanied by their hormone monsters acting as shoulder angels (or shoulder devils) as they navigate adolescence and human sexuality.

Season three of the series premiered on February 8th of this year as a Valentine special and the rest of the season was released on October 4th. The show also received a 2019 Primetime Emmy nomination in the top animation category, Outstanding Animated Program.
