Only two episodes of ‘Batwoman’ have aired, but according to its Rotten Tomatoes score, audiences hate it!  Or, this show featuring a lesbian lead has just been review bombed by trolls.  It’s the latter.

The CW superhero series only boasts 39 professional reviews, and out of those, it ranks at a favorable 72%.  However, it has an 11% audience rating based on 4,889 reviews.  Four thousand!  And most of those are one-star or less.  Over a thousand give the show a ½ star for being “flat.”

‘Batwoman’ leads into ‘Supergirl’ on Sunday nights.  ‘Supergirl’ Season 5 has a fantastic 99% professional critic review average.  Its audience score isn’t as good, at 57% based on 60 reviews.  ‘The Flash’ Season 6 also has a 99% critic score based on only 12 reviews, and 82% audience score based on only 49 reviews.  So ‘Supergirl’ and ‘The Flash’ haven’t even gotten 100 viewer reactions, yet almost 5,000 people felt the need to leave negative feedback on ‘Batwoman’?  Don’t think so.

Stepping out of the Arrowverse, the highest-rated show on TV for the year, ‘The Big Bang Theory’ only has 143 audience reviews for its 12th and final season.  And its critical score– 82%– and its audience score– 80%– are virtually identical.

But once again, who on Earth would almost 5,000 haters feel the need to leave nasty reviews of it, when most shows don’t even get 100 audience reviews?  They wouldn’t.

There alt-fandom demographic, straight white males, are upset that they feel that their fandom is being taken over by people who are different, so they have decided to attack them.  They did so with the Marvel movies ‘Black Panther’ and ‘Captain Marvel’, and the recent ‘Star Wars’ movies, which feature a large number of female lead characters, and characters of color.  ‘Batwoman’ is just their latest target, and it’s in pretty good company.

What do you think of ‘Batwoman’ so far?  Do you think it deserves an 11% rating on RT?
