Ruby Rose as Batwoman
The CW

Ruby Rose went public with a video of her undergoing surgery following a stunt gone wrong.  She didn’t specify that what project she was working on at the time, but if it was just a few months ago, it was most likely on the set of ‘Batwoman’, which she has been busy filming nearly all summer.  (She had to cancel her appearance at San Diego Comic-Con due to filming.)

As Rose wrote on Instagram:

“To everyone asking about my new Pez dispenser scar on my neck… A couple of months ago I was told I needed an emergency surgery or I was risking becoming paralyzed.  I had herniated two discs doing stunts, and they were close to severing my spinal chord [sic]. I was in chronic pain and yet couldn’t feel my arms.”

She went on to thank her doctor for “everything you did and for allowing me to keep working and doing what I love. I am forever in your debt.”  She also justified having the procedure recorded, by saying:

“And to anyone asking why I let them video it.. Did you not watch that Greys anatomy episode where they left a towel in a patient?? Also I wanted to see what happens when we go under.”

You can watch the video below, but be warned that it is graphic and some may find it disturbing or… just plain gross.

Hopefully, the surgery won’t impact her performance on ‘Batwoman’ too much.  But these shows can get pretty physical.  Fans don’t have much longer to wait, as ‘Batwoman’ will premiere this coming weekend.

‘Batwoman’ co-stars Camrus Johnson as Luke Fox, Dougray Scott as Kate’s father Jacob, Nicole Kang as Kate’s half-sister Mary Hamilton, Rachel Skarsten as villain Alice, and Meagan Tandy as security agent Sophie Moore.  It has also been revealed that Hush will be a villain in Season One.

‘Batwoman’ will make its series premiere on Sunday, October 6, at 8 pm EST, followed by the Season 5 premiere of ‘Supergirl’ at 9 pm.
