The Addams Family

It looks as though there will be a big family reunion this fall.  As ‘The Addams Family’ settles down to an uneventful dinner (unless you count the assassination attempts), Gomez and Morticia discuss plans to invite their entire brood to stay with them.  In this new clip from the upcoming MGM movie, the first houseguest makes his explosive entrance.

Check out this preview of the upcoming animated film:

The Addams family’s lives begin to unravel when they move to New Jersey and
face-off against the 21st century and its greedy, arrogant and sly reality TV host
Margaux Needler while also preparing for their extended family to arrive for
a major celebration

Oscar Isaac and Charlize Theron head this cast as Gomez and Morticia Addams.  Chloë Grace Moretz and Finn Wolfhard co-star as their kids Wednesday and Pugsley.  Nick Kroll voices Gomez’s brother, Fester, while Bette Midler voices their mother, referred to only as Grandmama.  Morticia’s parents, Grandma and Grandpa Frump will be voiced by Catherine O’Hara and Martin Short.  In perhaps the most fun casting, Gomez and Fester’s hairy Cousin Itt will be voiced by Snoop Dogg!

Allison Janney will portray Margaux Needler, the Addams’ neighbor, a talk show host, while her daughter Margaux will be voiced by Elsie Fisher.  The cast also includes ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’s Pom Klementieff and Tituss Burgess.

Greg Tiernan and Conrad Vernon co-directed, with a script by Matt Lieberman and Pamela Pettler.  According to Vernon:

“Greg and I have always been a fan of the Addams Family in past versions, so when we set out to make this movie, we were excited to do something new. With that in mind, I drew from the brilliantly original Charles Addams New Yorker cartoons for the look of the film and decided to tell the story of how Gomez and Morticia meet, find their house and start their family. This unique approach is what drew me in to direct the film. The reimagining also extends to the stellar cast we’ve put together who will each bring their own spin to our film that will appeal to longtime fans of the Addams and introduce them to a new generation.”

‘The Addams Family’ snaps back onto the big screen on October 11, 2019.
