Creepshow poster CR: Shudder

George Romero’s ‘Creepshow’ is a classic film which gave us a fun take on working with Stephen King and the new series seems to be doubling down on the horror. ‘The Walking Dead’ executive producer Greg Nicotero has some huge shoes to fill but the first and now second trailer seems to indicate that he’ll be able to deliver. Nicotero made much of his initial impression in films working directly for Romero on ‘Day of the Dead’ and the ‘Tales from the Darkside’ series. With that in mind, this isn’t just a passion project for the showrunner but also a tribute to one of his mentors.

Nicotero previously shared that “It’s not a reboot, it’s not a retelling. George [Romero] and Steve [King] were so ahead of their time, because of their love for EC Comics. The shit that I love, it’s the same stuff that we all love. It’s Jaws, and Dawn of the Dead, and Salem’s Lot. The stuff that I could watch or read a hundred times. And now we have Creepshow — it comes, for me, from a place of love. I love this stuff so much. We’re all here for the same reason, and I’m grateful for the fans that support this.”
