Star Trek Discovery New Logo

In CBS’s ‘Star Trek: Discovery‘ that is set to boldly go where no man had gone before we have three new casting announcements to share with you today! With the delays, loss of Bryan Fuller as showrunner, and questionable choice to have the series on their streaming only service and not television it has been a question if anyone would even see the show. So, I’m pretty sure that Terry Serpico (‘The Purge: Election Year’,’Sneaky Pete’), Maulik Pancholy (’30 Rock’,’Weeds’), and Sam Vartholomeos (‘The Secret Life of Walter Mitty’) are all hoping that production picks up steam soon as they’ve all just signed their lives away on the dotted line to become part of Starfleet.

What we’ve learned about the characters is that Serpico is lined up to play Admiral Anderson who is “a high-ranking Starfleet official”, Pancholy will be tackling the role of “Dr. Nambue, Chief Medical Officer on board the Starship Shenzhou”, and finally we see Vartholomeos as Ensign Connor who has just joined the crew of the Starship Shenzhou and is fresh out of Starfleet Academy.

They will be joining a cast already pretty full of actors which includes Sonequa Martin-Green (‘The Walking Dead’), Doug Jones (‘Hellboy’), Michelle Yeoh (‘Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon’), Anthony Rapp (‘Rent’), James Frain (‘Gotham’), Chris Obi (‘Roots’), Shazad Latif (‘Penny Dreadful’), and Mary Chieffo (‘Miss Dial’.) The series takes place will take place before The Original Series and the will have them finding an important “discovery” which was referenced in one of Captain James T. Kirk’s episodes.
