The Latest 'Ad Astra' Sneak Peek Shows Us A Moon Chase

It isn’t every day we get to see Brad Pitt involved in a space chase on the surface of the moon but the latest clip from ‘Ad Astra‘ does just that! The tagline also slightly differentiates itself from the usual synopsis sharing that the movie is “a paranoid thriller in space that follows Roy McBride (Brad Pitt) on a mission across an unforgiving solar system to uncover the truth about his missing father and his doomed expedition that now, 30 years later, threatens the universe.”

As to the space chase that you’ll likely love checking out, we learn from Sean Blakemore’s character Willy Levant a bit about the space pirates that will be appearing and that “some countries have been giving them safe haven. They’ll take hostages or go for our rovers.” It isn’t clear exactly how this will factor into the story yet.

I’m not going to lie, I kind of wish they had a focus on this scene in the IMAX trailer for the film. With that in mind, I’m not sure how this clip references the film being a “paranoid thriller” as it appears to make it look more like an action-drama in space.

What did you think of the latest sneak peek of ‘Ad Astra’? Do you plan on checking out the movie on the big screen at the end of the month? Is there any chance that we’ll get a lot of action sequences like this in the film or will these be rare as the other trailers have been more restrained? Share your thoughts in the comments below!

Astronaut Roy McBride (Brad Pitt) travels to the outer edges of the solar system to find his missing father and unravel a mystery that threatens the survival of our planet. His journey will uncover secrets that challenge the nature of human existence and our place in the cosmos.

‘Ad Astra’ will fly into your local theater on September 30th, 2019!
