Kevin Smith Shares Who He Feels Could Have Killed Thanos In 'Avengers: Infinity War'

We had a chance to see many of The Avengers throw down with Thanos in ‘Avengers: Infinity War‘ but Kevin Smith believes that Scarlet Witch is the one who came closest to stopping him, permanently. The famed geek and director thinks that she not only could have stopped The Mad Titan but killed him as well. While we were able to see Captain Marvel throw Thanos around in ‘Avengers: Endgame’ and Thor eventually kill him, Wanda was the first to have a solid chance of bringing his plan to an end.

The revelation came during a recent re-watch of the movie where Smith shared that:

Smith isn’t out of line either as Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige seem to have agreed:

“Wanda Maximoff, who is probably near the upper echelons of power — I contend she would have taken down Thanos if he hadn’t called the [army].”

If you need your memory jogged, Wanda was able to hold off Thanos who was powered with five of the Infinity Stones with one hand while using even more of her power to destroy the Mind Stone in Vision’s head completely.

Had there not been a need to split Wanda’s powers, The Mad Titan wouldn’t have had a chance.

While Thor probably could have also killed Thanos in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ had he not wanted to gloat, Wanda was able to do so with just her own powers and not using an external weapon.

Do you agree that the Scarlet Witch came the closest to killing Thanos in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’? Would Wanda have been able to defeat him had she not also been trying to kill the love of her life? Share your thoughts in the comments below, True Believers!
