Unlike most of the projects using San Diego Comic-Con for promotion, ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ is actually ongoing, so rather than showing footage of something that fans will have to wait months to see unabridged, the ABC series presented a trailer for the final four episodes of the current sixth season. New episodes will air on the next two Fridays followed by the two-part season finale on August 2.
In the clip, viewers watch as Sarge powers up. Is there any trace of Phil Coulson left inside?

The season finale is entitled “New Life” and here is the synopsis:
“With time running short, the team will have to go to hell and back to stop the end of everything. Who will survive?”
Chloe Bennet, aka Daisy Johnson, teased:
“My favorite part about the finale is the very, very end, because it will be a big shift that sets us up for next season.”
Jeff Ward, who plays Deke, added, “The very last thing in the finale is great. Very, very good.”
In case you didn’t get the point, Elizabeth Henstridge stressed: “Stay tuned until that last minute of the finale!”
Well, one thing fans don’t have to worry about is a dangling cliffhanger. Just days ago, it was revealed that ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ will return next year (most likely in the summer) for its seventh and final season.
Marvel TV’s Jeph Loeb discussed the reason why the show is embarking on a final season and hinted at what viewers can expect from that:
“So we can actually build a season that will tie up any threads that are there. To make sure that we come to a conclusion that’s satisfying to the fans, to the cast, to Marvel, and to ABC.
“When you know that’s what you’re doing, you can take greater risks, of life and death. Those kinds of decisions suddenly now are real on the table because you’re not playing how do we undo this when we get to the next season. You’re playing that this is going to be the end of the story.”
‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ airs on ABC on Friday nights at 8pm EST.
