This is who Jason Reitman called!  The co-writer and director of Sony’s upcoming ‘Ghostbusters 2020’ shared the first look at the family that will be the focus of his upcoming entry in the beloved franchise.  Carrie Coon (‘Fargo’, ‘Avengers: Endgame’) plays the mother of two teens, played by Finn Wolfhard (‘Stranger Things’) and Mckenna Grace (‘Captain Marvel’).  Also pictured is Ivan Reitman, Jason’s father, the man who directed the original ‘Ghostbusters’ and ‘Ghostbusters II’, and serves as a producer on the new film.

Not pictured is Paul Rudd who reportedly plays one of the kids’ teacher.  As was rumored, ‘Ghostbusters 2020’ takes the action outside of New York City to a small town, which appears to be the case, judging by the background.

Here is Jason Reitman’s Twitter post:

It is RUMORED that Coon’s character, whose name has not been revealed, is the daughter of one of the original Ghostbusters, most likely Egon Spengler, who was played by the late Harold Ramis, one of the guiding forces behind the original films, which he co-wrote with Dan Aykroyd.  Ramis and Aykroyd had been trying to get a new ‘Ghostbusters’ made for many years, but sadly, he passed away in 2014.

The cast of ‘Ghostbusters 2020’ also includes Celeste O’Connor and Logan Kim in undisclosed roles.

‘Ghostbusters 2020’ opens on July 10, 2020.
