The slogan at the end is off-putting: “In 2019, Anime Goes Global.”  Er, anime has BEEN global… for like DECADES.  Heck, ‘Astro Boy’ began airing in the US in the 1960s!

Paru Itagaki’s ‘Beastars’ is being produced by Orange and will arrive in Japan this October.  Dainenbyo’s ‘Ultramarine Magmell’ was produced by Pierrot+ and premiered in Japan earlier this year.

Shinichiro Watanabe’s highly-anticipated musical series ‘Carole & Tuesday’ will premier on Netflix globally on August 30.

Watanabe serves as supervising director on the series with Motonobu Hori as director. Further staff includes Eisaku Kubonouchi as original character designer and Tsunenori Saito as character designer. Music for the series is by Mocky. Bones will handle animation, while FlyingDog will handle music production.
