With the debut of ‘Stranger Things 3’ just a month away, Netflix isn’t easing up on promotions. The newly released poster reminds fans that “One Summer Can Change Everything.” That is the slogan for the show’s third season and the creators, the Duffer Brothers, have emphasized that “change” will play a major part in the new episodes. After the first two seasons took place in the fall, at the start of the school year, ‘Stranger Things 3’ takes place in the summer, the transitional period between school years, as Dustin, Lucas, Max, Mike, and Will leave middle school behind and prepare for high school. As for the older characters, we know that Steve has graduated and is preparing for adulthood… by dressing in a sailor suit and slinging ice cream.

All of the major characters will be back for ‘Stranger Things 3’. Joining Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin), Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas), Sadie Sink (Max), Finn Wolfhard (Mike), Noah Schnapp (Will), and Joe Keery (Steve), are Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven), Winona Ryder (Joyce Beyers), David Harbour (Chief Jim Hopper), Natalia Dyer (Nancy), Charlie Heaton (Jonathan), Cara Buono (Karen Wheeler), and Dacre Montgomery (Billy Hargrove). Priah Ferguson has been upped to series regular, as Lucas’ sister Erica. Maya Hawke joins as Robin, an “alternative” co-worker of Steve’s. Cary Elwes, Jake Busey, and Francesca Reale have been added in recurring roles, as, respectively, Hawkin’s Mayor Kline; Bruce, a journalist working for The Hawkins Post; and Heather, a lifeguard at the pool, where Billy also works.

The new poster looks similar to posters that were released for Season 1 and 2, and echo period images from 1980s movies, including the ‘Star Wars’ franchise. But the collage style has become much more common in recent years, for posters for, among other projects, ‘Avengers: Endgame’:
And ‘Dark Phoenix’:
But ‘Stranger Things’ has been doing it for years now, so this new poster is in keeping with their established style.
If you’re ready for a rematch with the Mind-Flayer, ‘Stranger Things 3’ arrives on July 4th on Netflix.
