New Chinese 'Spider-Man: Far From Home' Offers All-New Footage

Not only does China get ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ before we do in the US, but also a new trailer that reveals a lot of alternate footage that has not yet been seen in a previous trailer.  The new clip features alternate shots from the bridge battle, as well as some heartfelt moments between Peter (Tom Holland) and Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal), as well as Happy Hogan (Jon Favreau), who seems to be doing his best to fill the void left by Tony Stark.

Check out the new clip below:

Marvel and Sony have decided to sling the web of ‘Spider-Man’ over China on June 28, just a few days earlier than it will release in the US, because China will not allow any foreign movies to open during the month of July, in order to give a boost to their own film industry.  This is how ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ will slip in right before the embargo goes into effect.

In the new picture, Peter and the world are dealing with the loss of Tony Stark, who sacrificed himself to save existence from Thanos in ‘Avengers: Endgame’.  He heads to Europe on a class trip, but things go worse than that time the Griswolds won that trip on ‘The Pig in a Poke’.  Not only does he find Europe besieged by elemental creatures, but Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) recruits him to help an other-dimensional hero named Mysterio/Quentin Beck.  Fury also tells Peter that it’s time to (Spider) man up, because the world needs a new champion, now that Iron Man is gone.

But all Peter wants is for a pretty girl, like M.J. (Zendaya), to notice him!

Director Jon Watts returns for the sequel.  In addition to Holland, Gyllenhaal, Favreau, Jackson, and Zendaya, the cast includes Numan Acar, Jacob Batalon, Remy Hii, Tony Revolori, Angourie Rice, J.B. Smoove, Cobie Smulders, Martin Starr, and Marisa Tomei.

‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ swings into theaters on July 2, 2019.
