Gunn and Elizabeth Banks do a great job at teasing the concept of the film in a way the will benefit those both who haven’t seen it yet as well as those who have! Of the movie, we hear Gunn sharing, “It’s a movie that’s both familiar and completely unique.” This is true because it is a take on Superman where the Man of Steel is a teenager of uncaring. How much is from his heritage and how much is from what we see trigger him in the film is debatable.

As it has been a long time since Gunn has been known for horror, I think his fans have all been just wanting to see him continue on the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ franchise. For fans of his darker work, after this film, you’re going to be hoping a sequel to ‘Brightburn’ is in the works as well, especially as they teased alternate versions of other heroes who have evolved into villains instead as well.
