Welcome back yet again to another all-new Toy News Tuesday! We’re the one weekly column right here on ScienceFiction.com where we seek out all of the awesome news you need to know about any announcements and cool happenings in the toy industry and put them all in one easy to find place for you! This week things are moving right along as we inch closer and closer to the summer season! A lot of companies are readying for their big summer releases, including our first look at some of this year’s San Diego Comic Con exclusives! We have new items from Diamond Select Toys, NECA, Funko, Hasbro, and more! There’s plenty of great new stuff to check out in the Toy News for the week of May 7th, 2019!
Marvel Celebrates It’s 80th Anniversary With New Legends
This year marks the 80th Anniversary of Marvel Comics, which is certainly a landmark worth celebrating! The team at Hasbro seems to be on board with the idea, as they’ve got a batch of new 6″ scale Marvel Legends figures hitting stores this summer to commemorate the occasion. We first saw most of these back at Toy Fair 2019, but these are the first official images released from Hasbro for these new additions to the long running fan favorite toyline. Much like the regular Marvel Legends line, the 80th Anniversary line of Marvel Legends figures is a mix of comic styled and movie inspired figures available in both single carded figures and multi-packs. Single carded figures include classic renditions of Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, and Logan, while multi=packs include a set featuring classic Hulk with First Appearance Wolverine and a set with Korg and The Grandmaster from ‘Thor: Ragnarok’! These are all due out later this summer.

Commander Gree Returns
Previously thought lost to history, Commander Gree is back! The 6″ Star Wars Black Series Clone Commander Gree figure was previously released as a ToysRUs retailer exclusive, just prior to the company going out of business and closing it’s doors for good. Now it looks like Hasbro has decided that fans deserve another shot at adding Gree to their collection, as they are soliciting the figure for a wide release this fall! Clone Commander Gree, designation 1004, led the Elite Corps of clone troopers during the Clone Wars. He saw deployments on such heated battlefronts as Kashyyyk. Though a faithful commander who carried out the Jedi’s orders, Gree was ultimately loyal to the Republic.

The Candyman Can
NECA is well known for taking good care of their horror fans, so it should be no surprise to hear that they’re adding another major horror icon to their retro styled 8″ scale figure line! The latest slasher of cinema to join the MEGO-inspired retro figure line is none other than The Candyman as portrayed by the legendary Tony Todd! We dare you to say his name five times! From the classic horror film series #Candyman! The terrifying slasher films told the story of vengeful urban legend Candyman, who could be summoned by speaking his name five times in front of a mirror.

The Dilophosaurus in Jurassic Park is a four-feet-tall product of creative license that has the honor of being one of the few dinosaurs in the franchise to be rendered entirely with practical effects. Terrifying New Collectibles From Funko
The team at Funko looks to be heading back into the past to bring us a number of new horror items based on several older licenses that they haven’t released anything new for in a while, plus a few extra tricks and treats that are sure to get fans of the genre’s blood pumping!
First up we’ve got an all new Hannibal Lecter POP! Vinyl from ‘Silence Of The Lambs’! This is the first new Hannibal POP! based on Anthony Hopkins take on the character in quite some time, and offers fans their choice of a regular or bloody variant figure. Thankfully for our wallets, this bloody variant is looking to be evenly distributed rather than just a rare chase figure, so we all have a decent shot at adding this delectable cannibal to our collections!
Next up we have a new POP! Vinyl based on the titular character from ‘Teen Wolf’! This time though, it’s based on the original 80’s classic film rather than the recently wrapped up Mtv drama series. We are honestly surprised that we didn’t get this guy sooner!
Finally we have a new wave of horror themed Funko 5-Star figures! This makes horror one of the only lines to get a second wave in the 5-Star line, with this new second wave comprising of Michael Meyers, Jack Torrance, Valek The Nun, and Annabelle The Doll! These are due in stores this summer.
Winter Is Here
HBO’s critically acclaimed high fantasy series ‘Game Of Thrones’ may be coming to an end in the next few weeks, but that doesn’t mean that collectors need to give up on the license just yet! Since the series launched almost a decade ago, Funko has been there with a massive amount of collectibles based on the hit show (which is based on the hit book series by George R.R. Martin). This week the team at Funko announced two new additions to their ‘Game Of Thrones’ POP! VInyls line, with a new POP! Vinyl of Jon Snow featuring his Season 8 look, plus a POP! Rides Jon Snow with Rhaegal! These are both due in stores in the next few weeks, so you should hopefully be able to snag them before the show finishes out it’s last two episodes!

Marvel’s latest masterpiece summer blockbuster ‘Avengers: Endgame’ has been in theaters for a little over a week, leaving behind a number of obliterated box office records in it’s wake. The ‘spoiler ban’ has officially been lifted as per the Russo Brothers (who directed the film) so it looks like the team at Funko can finally unveil some additional POP! Vinyls that they have planned for the film’s toyline! Coming soon are new POP! Vinyls of Casual Thor, Rescue, Dual-Wielding Thor (FYE exclusive) and a special 6″ Super-Sized POP! Vinyl of The Hulk with the Stark Gauntlet! There will also be a Walmart exclusive wave of Infinity Stone inspired Chrome Metallic Hulk POP! Vinyls hitting stores in the immediate future, so be sure to collect them all if you want to be able to undo the snap! 
They Make This Look Good
It’s been quite a while since we have heard anything from the ‘Men In Black’ franchise, so it makes total sense that Sony would want to bring new life to the series with an all new Re-quel (reboot-sequel) or Lega-Sequel (legacy sequel) that brings us back into the world of the ‘Men In Black’ universe we all know and love from the old films, but with an almost all new cast of characters to follow through our story! The newest film in the franchise, ‘Men In Black: International’, stars Tessa Thompson and Chris Hemsworth (both of Marvel’s ‘Thor: Ragnarok’) and sees them taking on the roles of our first line of defense against worst scum of the universe. While the new film is hitting theaters this June, the team at Funko is looking to bring you their new wave of POP! Vinyls based on the film even sooner! The line includes characters like Agent M, Agent H, Pawny, Alien Twins (two sided) and a Walmart exclusive variant of Agent M with Pawny! These new POP! Vinyls are due to hit stores in the next few weeks so be sure to watch your back because you never quite know where the MIB’s are at!
