Not all of the original Avengers are likely to survive ‘Avengers: Endgame’ but at least Chris Hemsworth would be willing to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe if Thor survives the upcoming film. We’ve been hearing rumors that some of the original Avengers likely wouldn’t make it through the fight with Thanos and that puts Hemsworth on the same level as Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man and Chris Evans‘ Captain America. That being said, both Downey and Evans have shown some interest in stepping away from Marvel Studios to pursue other acting opportunities and Hemsworth is eager for more! That alone could make a difference assuming he survives the upcoming culmination of Marvel films.

Hemsworth’s interest in returning as Thor was revealed in a recent interview where he stated:
“I’d play this character for as long as anyone would let me. I’ve loved it so much. But the combination of this many characters in this Phase Three, as Marvel calls it, you’ll never have this interaction with this many people again. Who knows what the future holds and whether they do prequels and sequels or whatever, I’d be open to anything. But right now, this is where we finish up.”
It isn’t clear what the future holds for the MCU in Phase 4 and beyond but as we’ve learned that ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ is the last film in Phase 3 it means we still have quite some time until Marvel is likely to reveal any hints of their future plans. It is doubtful we’ll be hearing too much until the post-credit scenes of The Wallcrawler’s next outing which won’t be until July 5th, 2019.
