There have been quite a few satisfying scenes for fans of HBO’s ‘Game of Thrones‘ over the years though not many have stood out for Sophie Turner’s Sansa Stark. That being said, two of the greatest deaths on the series were carried out over her watchful eyes, and one of them happens to be her favorite moment from the series. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone Turner and her best friend Maisie Williams talk about various aspects of the series.
When talking about her favorite moment, Turner shares it was when Sansa first became “empowered” in a way we hadn’t seen more. While many might think of her finally turning against Littlefinger being the possible moment, it was actually when she presided over the gruesome death of Ramsay Bolton where she had him eaten by the very dogs that he had threatened her and so many others with. The entire scene “made it a really great storyline. Killing him with the dogs, that was the most satisfying scene. It made me so emotional because I’ve been waiting so long for her to stand up to the people who have done her wrong.”
We’ve seen Sansa come a long way since the naive young woman she had been in the first season and this was one of the most crucial moments where she honestly came into her own.
Turner went on to share that “In the beginning, I was jealous of Maisie because she got to do all these sword fights and be the badass. I was like, ‘I know my character is very powerful.’ Sansa adapts better than Arya. If Arya was in Sansa’s situation at the beginning, she would have had her head cut off. And if Sansa had been in Arya’s position, Sansa would have been bullied to death. . . . It was really frustrating how slow it was, but it just makes it all the more satisfying. I’m happy she’s only just coming into her power now.”
This is a very accurate point as well. The two girls were so different that they were ideal for the situations which they were placed in and if their roles had been reversed it feels unlikely that we would have seen them both come out on top.
