Fear The Walking Dead

‘The Walking Dead’ wraps up its ninth season this Sunday, but fans will have a bit of a zombie drought before the fifth season of ‘Fear the Walking Dead’ arrives.  Appearing on this past weekend’s ‘Talking Dead’, Scott M. Gimple, the brains behind all things ‘Walking Dead’, divulged:

“What I will say is Fear the Walking Dead is coming up in June, and there is a story in the first half of the season that has to do with one of these greater stories of the universe that will bring in some of the things that all of you guys have seen before, and it will expand it out just a little bit more, and then we’ll have an announcement.”

Gimple also stated that there were loads of ‘Walking Dead’ announcements coming up, for 2020.  We already know that big-budget TV movies are coming, featuring the further adventures of Andrew Lincoln’s Rick Grimes.  But AMC has made it know that they plan to expand the brand even further in many different media.

‘Fear the Walking Dead’ now stars Lennie James as Morgan, a character that first appeared in ‘The Walking Dead’ Season One.  Another refugee from the main show, Austin Amelio’s Dwight will be rambling over to ‘Fear’ and intersecting with the characters in Texas.  The regular cast now consists of Alycia Debnam-Carey as Alicia Clark, Colman Domingo as Victor Strand, Danay García as Luciana, Garret Dillahunt as John Dorie, Jenna Elfman as June, Maggie Grace as Althea, Alexa Nisenson as Charlie, and Daryl Mitchell as Wendell.  Karen David joins the cast as a new character, Grace.

Heading into season 5 of Fear the Walking Dead, the group’s mission is clear: locate survivors and help make what’s left of the world a slightly better place. With dogged determination, Morgan Jones leads the group with a philosophy rooted in benevolence, community and hope. Each character believes that helping others will allow them to make up for the wrongs of their pasts. But trust won’t be easily earned. Their mission of helping others will be put to the ultimate test when our group finds themselves in unchartered territory, one which will force them to face not just their pasts but also their fears. It is only through facing those fears that the group will discover an entirely new way to live, one that will leave them forever changed.

Check back to find out the exact return date for ‘Fear the Walking Dead’, but for now, we only know that it will be back in June.
