Godzilla: King Of The Monsters

Usually, when you see a government-run agency of scientists looking into strange science, you just know that they’re up to no good. According to director Mike Dougherty, that isn’t going to be the case at all in ‘Godzilla: King of the Monsters.’ In fact, Monarch is going to end up being the protagonists of the film and is a force for good with how the organization was established in ‘Kong: Skull Island.’ At that point in time, the organization was in its infancy, but we’ll be seeing them as a fully established team in the upcoming film.

It’ll be a nice change of pace to see a group of scientists as a force of good for a change and according to Dougherty,

“I find that concept really fascinating, the idea that there’s a secret agency that tracks John M. Wallister, and that is a dream come true for me too. If tomorrow the government said you have to fake your death and abandon everyone you know to go hunt the paranormal, I would be gone in a heartbeat. And so, I felt there was an opportunity to kind of craft Monarch as a group of heroes, who, unlike a lot of top-secret government agencies like the spies and whatnot, who have their own kind of nefarious mission statements, Monarch has a very positive outlook on what these creatures are and what they represent.”

While the group is attempting to protect or find a way towards peace with the Titans, we know that Ghidorah isn’t going to make this an easy task.

Are you looking forward to seeing Monarch as a force of good in ‘Godzilla: King of the Monsters’? Do you feel that they will hold enough sway with the world governments to make their case or will they be unsuccessful when going up against politicians and the various branches of the military to have their motives carry humanity forward? Following the global success of “Godzilla” and “Kong: Skull Island” comes the next chapter in Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ cinematic MonsterVerse, an epic action-adventure that pits Godzilla against some of the most popular monsters in pop culture history. The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species—thought to be mere myths—rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.

‘Godzilla: King Of The Monsters’ will be roaring into theaters on May 31st, 2019!
