As Bane didn’t emerge in ‘Gotham’ until long after Bruce Wayne had become Batman, it will be interesting to see how Shane West‘s take on the character will end up. This won’t be the first time that the series has taken liberties with a villain’s origins as just about every single one that we’ve been introduced to so far has had their past changed up. However, a new synopsis for the episode “I Am Bane” which is set to debut on Thursday, March 21st, 2019, is giving us a bit more of what to expect from the character.

The synopsis reveals that the episode is about:

On the precipice of Gotham’s reunification, Gordon and Bruce find themselves face-to-face with a newly transformed Eduardo and discover the real mastermind behind the city’s current chaos. Meanwhile, a pregnant Barbara turns to Lee for help in the all-new ‘I Am Bane.’

Eduardo Dorrance was introduced over a month ago, and now we’ll see “a newly transformed Eduardo” as Bane at long last. This doesn’t make it clear if Bane will end up being “the real mastermind behind the city’s current chaos” or if another villain will be the one messing around with what little is left of Gotham City. I’m curious to see if we’ll witness Bane facing off against Gordon, the soon-to-be Batman, or whoever is actually pulling strings in Gotham’s underworld. It is easy to suspect that Agent Walker could be behind the chaos as she is the cause of what happened to Bane and potentially the one who put that microchip into Nygma and changing him up.

Are you eager to see Bane officially be introduced on ‘Gotham’? Will he be squaring off against Gordon, Bruce, or whoever is actually behind some of the recent madness? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
